چکیده

Hemostatic parameters were measured in the blood of mature Sprague-Dawley rats during a three day period following exposure to a compression-decompression schedule designed to produce severe dy sbaric stress. The animals were compressed on air to a pressure equivalent to 300 feet of sea water for 30 minutes and stage decompression over a 42 minute interval. Acute decompression stress produced a transient decrease in clotting time. Circulating platelet population was unchanged during the early phase of recovery from severe decompression but it had declined significantly by two days postsurfacing. It then returned to control levels by the end of the observation period. Associated with this thrombocytopenic episode was a tendency toward platelet aggregation. Core temperature measurements indicated the presence of a chronic hyperthermic condition. A significant hyperfibrinogenemia had developed by one day post-dive with a normalization of fibrinogen content occurring during the following two days. No alterations in either prothrombin time or partial thromboplastin time were detected. This animal research has much significance in the biomedical aspects of human diver safety and health.

Clinical and laboratorial description of the differential diagnoses of hemostatic disorders in the horse

The process of fibrin clot formation is a series of complex and well-regulated reactions involving blood vessels, platelets, procoagulant plasma proteins, natural inhibitors, and fibrinolytic enzymes. Vasculitis can be caused by a variety of different agents as bacteria, viruses, protozoal, rickettsial organisms, toxic, drugs, medications, and neoplasms. The most common cause of vasculitis is t...

مقایسه اثر کلسیم سولفات و کلرید فریک در کنترل خونریزی طی جراحی کبدی؛ مطالعه مدل حیوانی

Background and Objective: The control of parenchymal hemorrhage especially in liver parenchyma, despite improvements in surgical science, is still one of the challenges that surgeons are facing with. Therefore, introducing an effective method to control liver bleeding is of important research priority. This study aimed to compare the hemostatic effect of calcium sulfate and ferric chloride on c...

Evaluation of Platelet Activation, Fibrinolysis, and Hemostatic Activation During High Dose Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography

Acute myocardial infarction during high-dose dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) has been reported in patients with no indication of severe obstructive coronary artery disease, but the mechanism of thrombosis remains unclear. We hypothesized that an increase in platelet and hemostatic activation secondary to high dose dobutamine might be a contributing factor. Twelve patients undergoing ou...

Dysbaric osteonecrosis by X-ray and CT scan in Chinese divers.

OBJECTIVE To compare the results of X-ray and CT scan for dysbaric osteonecrosis in Chinese divers. METHODS Both shoulders, hips and knees of 66 asymptomatic divers with diving duration of more than one year were examined by X-ray and CT scan. RESULTS The most frequent locations of dysbaric osteonecrosis were the upper femurs, followed by the upper humerus, lower femurs and upper tibias, an...
